Let the little things help cheer us up in our darkest times. For any kids out there, if you feel your heart is broken I tell you that you will get better. Parents of the lost will not completely heal so its up to the kids to help them. To any kids in Connecticut, try to find anyway to help these moms and dads. If anyone lost was your brother or sister, you have a big responsibility. It is scary but now you are the adults and your parents are the little ones.

Lord of the Recorder- Studio C
Ah, Studio C. I have become a fan. Here is a clip from one of their latest episodes, Lord of the Dance. I think it should be Lord of the Recorder, but that's just me. :) They come on every Monday night at 7 on BYUTV and you can watch the episodes anytime at <www.byutv.com/studioc>
Little kids might not be able to understand every episode but this clip should be good for all ages.

Hot Cocoa in late August? Sounds at first like a total no but taste begs to differ. Made a cup this morning when it was still cool out and I could practly see the Christmas decorations. The thing with hot cocoa is that during summer you don't want it too hot or luke warm. One minute of 6floz of water in a 1200 watt microwave did the trip for me!
Oh, and the difference between hot cocoa and hot chocolate is that hot cocoa is a packet added to water because it has dried milk in it and hot chocolate you add milk to the scoopable powder found in things like NesleQuick. :P yum!
One more thing, turns out there is a way to make something called a frozen hot chocolate! Sounds good.

Hey everyone! Or one. (I really don't know how many people actually read my blog.) So i was sitting at my computer and thinking what to post. Afterall, each post should be good right? (maybe) Anyway, school is starting back up again and it reminded me of tons of funny stories that have happened through school.
1. There is a girl and a boy They are not siblings! who were both really really white. Like vampire pale. So it's Sadies and the girl fills a bowl full of vampire teeth, bats, and possibly blood (hopefully not real).and leaves it on the guys desk with the vampire joke asking if he would like to go to the Sadies dance with her. His reply? He showed up early to school one day and used the theatre bathroom to cover himself in gold glitter. He dyed his hair the day before to be like Edward cullen, and he wore an unbuttoned button-upShirt. He showed up to her class, stood up on the desks, posed and said YES!
2. ............
Okay, so I don't have very many funny stories in school. But in eigth grade I acidenntally slipped on a banana peel in DisneyLand on a band trip in front of all my friends who laughed at me. NO i did not fall, cause I have really good balance. I just slid a full two feet forward.
..............So,.....yea that's my blog today. Funny stories relating to school in years past.

So I did a huge long rant (in writing) in comment to a really stupid article I found via Facebook. I wasn't sure whether or not I should post it. My heart and brain did a quick "Heavenly Father should I? and facebook immediatly told me that I was no longer logged it and needed to resign in. I did and the page was gone. I think that was answer. :) So I thought about this awesome cartoon. I also saw this on Facebook awhile ago! :)

So tired. But I have to go to work. And it's the middle of the day. What makes you tired? .......
Anyway, have you ever gotten somebody else's mail? Well I have, allot. But because of that, I've learned that Target does this huge college help stuff. If you look up target on facebook, or even just at Target.com/college you can find a ton of scholorships. WARNING! You can only apply for these scholorships if you are already an enrolled college student. But hey, that's okay too because I also found out that they have more cool stuff then ever, like bed stuff, cool lamps, chairs, and nice cookwear. Cool right?
Well, I guess if you do visit this blog, then you want something more than another place to go. So here's a cool background picture for google that I found.

7 Recipe: Lemon Squares
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened NOT MELTED!!
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 cup white (granulated) sugar
1/2 teaspoon (tsp.) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon (tsp.) salt
2 teaspoons (tsp.) grated lemon peel (optional)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Heat oven to 350 Degrees F. Mix flour, margarine and powdered sugar. Press in ungreased square pan, 8x8x2 or 9x9x2 inches, building up 1/2-inch edges. (This is going to take some fancy fingering and may take awhile. But after working the dough in the pan for a long while, you should achieve a very thin crust that fits. Remember, this is a thin crust, not cookie dough.) Bake 20 minutes. Beat remaining ingredients until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Pour over hot crust. Bake until no indentation remains when touched lightly in center. (The recipie says about 25 min.s but some ovens, like mine may only take 20 minutes. Cool; cut into squares for eating!!
8 Recipe: No Baked Cookies
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 cube of margarine
1/4 cup cocoa
3 cups of oats
1/2 cup of peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
1 teaspoon (tsp.) vanilla
Mix top four ingredients together in a medium/large sauce pan on medium to high heat. Blend untill mixture boils. (It looks like how you blow bubbles in milk. So watch it incase it overflows.) Boil for one minute. Take off heat and mix in other ingredients. (Do this fast because it hardens quickly.) Then, drop on to waxed paper or foil to make cookie sized blobs. Let them cool and harden. Then ENJOY!! :)
9 Recipe: Russian Teacakes
1 cup margarine or butter, softened NOT MELTED
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon (tsp) vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon (tsp) salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
powdered sugar extras
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix margarine, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and the vanilla. Mix in flour, salt and nuts until dough holds together. (Now, my family doesn't like nuts so we replace them with a small amout of vegetable oil. This replaces the oil from the nuts that holds the cookie together. Just in case you don't like nuts either).
Shape into small balls. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. bake until set but not brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
Roll in powdered sugar while warm and then let them cool afterward. Roll in powdered sugar again and ENJOY! Makes about 4 dozen cookies if they are really small.

I missed the opening ceremony and am so bummed. We asked family nearby and they didn't get it either! But my mom in California saw it and called during commercial. Through her, I got a guess at what to type into youtube and found this from the opening ceremony of the Olympics!!!
I also heard about a stunt were it looks like the Queen of England jumps out of a plane with James Bond and they peracute to the ground. I saw a short clip but it wasn't spectacular. Other than that, NO CLUE what went on last night!
UPDATE: So sorry the video has been removed. Maybe one of these days someone will finally get smart and sell the videos to the olympics. :) We can only dream.

So maybe I didn't have so great a day, but that doesn't mean anybody else has to! Everyone deserves today to be the best day of his or her life. So, this is a new video from The Piano Guys. It is so creative and fun, even if it's short. And for those who don't get Youtube that's okay because here's a fun thing to do too!
Okay! Time for fun thing. It's family fort night!!!! Get the biggest blankets you have but make sure they are not too heavy. cover furniture and chairs with the blakents to form big forts! Use any heavy things you can find to weigh down the blankets to prevent them from falling. Find some sort of a light, either a lamp or some flashlights to light up your fort. Fill the inside with a bunch of pillows and there! Now you just have to make a treat like popcorn, cookies, browines, a vegetable platter, or fruit salad! Pop in a movie or play a favorite family board game and have the best night ever!!! :D

Very packed day yesterday so I missed a post so here are two cool things!
The Piano Guys are great! They sometimes take popular songs and add classical to get more kids into the finer music crowd.

Also is my family's favorite sugar cookie recipe by Betty Crocker and tweeked by us!
1 cup sugar
1 cup maragrine or butter, softened not melted!
1 1/2 teaspoons (tsp) vanilla
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon (tsp) salt (was orignaially 1 teaspoon)
1/2 teaspoon (tsp) baking SODA
MIX sugar, margarine, vanilla and eggs. MIX in remaining ingredients.
HEAT oven to 400 degrees F.
Cover a circle of clean countertop with white flour and flatten out with a rolling pin. Cover the rolling pin in flour to prevent dough sticking to the pin. Roll out the dough untill they are about 1/8 inch slices. Not sure what that means? Well, make sure the dough is not too Harry Potter book thick or too paper thin.
Find some cookie cutters and start cutting.
Be careful because dough can tare, but use hand or spatula to move cut dough to an UNGREASED BAKING SHEET. Don't put them too close together, about 1 inch apart say Betty.
BAKE until set, 8 to 10 minutes. That means 9 minutes. Immediately yet carefully remove from cookie sheet.
Decorate the cookies with your favorite frostings and sprinkles! And
Enjoy!
